Yes, I’m putting up a recipe for baked potato. I know it’s easy. But a baked potato done well is a lovely thing. Baked potatoes done badly have soggy skin, and slight flaky filling. Think uni microwaved potatoes. No. They were great then, but now, I need to make sure it is done well.
Ingredients:
- Baking Potato
- Salt
Method:
- Pre-heat the oven to 220c/430F/Gas mark 7.
- While the oven is preheating, wash the potatoes and prick all around (as evenly as you can) with a fork. Put a tsp of salt in your hand, and coat the potato in the salt evenly.
- Place the potato in the oven (on a tray or directly on the shelf).
- Cook for around an hour. To check the potato, squeeze them slightly, the skin should be crisp and the potato should have enough give and feel done. If they don’t feel ready, put back in the oven for another 10 mins. Check often, as you don’t want to over cook them.
- Take out of the oven and serve when ready, with butter, salt, pepper and any other fillings you like.
